Call for Papers and New Award

The European Academy of Chiropractic anounces the "Jean Robert Research Award", first  prize of 1000 Euro for the best research paper and second prize of 500 Euro for second best paper.

The ECU 2009 Convention Organising Committee has allocated a session on the first day of the convention, during the morning plenary sessions, where researchers and research institutions will be given the opportunity to present accepted research papers (5-10 min. oral floor presentations).

A best research paper prize, the ''Jean Robert Research Award'', of 1000 Euros for the first and 500 Euros for the second paper, will be awarded by the European Academy of Chiropractic Research Council.

We therefore invite interested individuals or institutions to submit their abstracts(s), containing title, author(s) name(s), introduction, methods, results, discussion & conclusion, up to 450 words. Deadline for submissions: 27 February, 2009.

Dear colleagues,

This is to reminder that there are still some place available for the FICS seminar in Zermatt next January 17 – 24, 2009. The deadline for the Hotel rooms is December 20th, 2008.
The program will be on extremities adjusting, politics of sport, measurements after treatments, philosophy of sport and skiing.

This seminar is combining academic program, skiing and social activities. We have been also to get a good package from Hotel Sonne.

Participants and guests will have the possibility to have 2 afternoons of skiing lessons by professional ski instructors.

THE 18TH MACCABIAH GAMES
July 13-23, 2009

The Chiropractic directors of the Maccabiah Games have contacted FICS to extend and invitation to FICS members for participation in the Maccabiah Games (www.maccabiah.com). Interested parties should contact Dr. Richard Gakner polegchiro@yahoo.com  or Dr. Gobrin ggobrin@yahoo.co.uk  for an application directly. They would like to close the application process by the conclusion of the FICS/WFC conference in Montreal, April 30, 2009. This is not a FICS sanctioned event. The FICS Games Commission will not be involved in the selection process. All applications will be solely the responsibility of Drs. Gakner and Gobrin.

Following the Sports Chiropractic Forum held at the WFC Congress in Portugal in May, subsequent discussions and decisions taken at the September 2 FICS General Assembly in Lausanne, FICS and the WFC are now entering into a closer and exciting new partnership. This is designed to promote the further development and success of sports chiropractic internationally, bringing greater access to athletes and more recognition to the profession from the general and elite sports communities.
